“Can I download books from my local library on the Kindle Paperwhite? What file types does it accept without converting them. I do not want an e-reader that i need to convert files. thanks in advance”

I borrow from the library almost exclusively. I use The Over Drive app for library rentals. When you download them there should be a Kindle option. That will redirect you to Amazon where you add to your registered Kindle device.

As to yr other questions, the answers wd b in the Amazon Kindle store. They have a lot of info there. I had to purchase a new Kindle to replace my old one that died, and when I opened my Amazon Kindle library, all the books from the old Kindle automatically appeared on the new one-very easy. Sorry I cannot be more help.
