Hello MrGonzo, The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is designed to have up to 8 Weeks of battery life with regular reading. This battery life can drop off however depending on use. For example, increasing screen brightness, note taking or drawing or heavy page flipping can decrease the battery life. For example, If you were reading a comic or graphic novel and were flipping the page more regularly, this could diminish the battery life faster. I will say from personal experience, my wife has the standard colorsoft, not the Scribe. I gave it to her in December, she reads regular books without color and ocasionally reads magazines with color about 3-5 hours per week. She has not had to charge hers yet. It really is on a case by case basis, depending on brightness, page turns, and use. I hope this answers your question!
