• no but you can download free books from amazon. I have a lot of classics I got for free

• There were a couple of 'sample' books with mine but through Amazon, you can order FREE books easily and there are thousands. I haven't purchased a book yet.

• Only a user guide and a few dictionaries. There are several sources online, such as Project Gutenberg, where you can find free public-domain books (classic novels).
