The Kindle is available with two different connectivity options - WiFi only or WiFi + free 3G. The version with the free 3G connectivity (the 3G service is free) is $70 more expensive than the non 3G versions. I have been using Kindles for several years now and have been quite happy with the non 3G versions. Once a book is downloaded, the only time you need connectivity is when you are syncing your Kindle with other devices (phone or tablets running the Kindle app). I really have enjoyed my Kindles, started out with a Kindle Fire that I replaced with a Kindle Paperwhite that I used for several years and just recently replaced with a Kindle Voyage - great device and I love the ability to starting reading a book at home with my Kindle, continue to read when I am out an about using the Kindle App on my iPhone that syncs seamlessly with my paperwhite and then continuing to read on my paperwhite when I get home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My voyage do not include 3g, review amazon oage for more technical details.
