“Can I read the Kindle Fire in bright sunlight like the Paperwhite?”

• No the screen is lit from the back so it's like shining a flashlight through a piece of paper you are reading, vs. front-lit (e-ink) which is text illuminated from the front. Basically PaperWhite and Voyage are what you are looking for to read outside.
