Yes the tap works with the Amazon Echo system that you already have. It does require that you "tap" the button on top in order to issue a command or request and you need not use the wake up command "Alexa" or "Echo".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Think of Tap as a portable battery operated Echo which needs you to press a button to ask it questions
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's its own device…but the Alexa feature is shared…meaning if you save a song on the Echo..then you can obtain it as well on on the Tap. Unless you are using different amazon accounts in the set up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Tap works as an extension for an echo, or as a separate device. Unlike the echo, the Tap requires you to press a button to activate Alexa, but it will control the same things the Echo does.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Separate thing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.they are separate, but close cousins. The Tab is portable, so it can't be "always on" and thus answer to the keyword "Alexa". You need to press a button to enable it to "listen". But portability is great, sound is good enough. I've been taking this in lieu of moving one of my small SONOS devices when I want to stream some tunes out on the porch with morning coffee. Other than that, they work and (voice) sound the same, I believe the TAP has better sound quality.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both and use one at home and the other at the office and Alexa works the same as long as you have a wifi connection. The wifi connection at work is weak so Alexa does not work well so I use as a Bluetooth speaker. When I bring her home for the weekend the Tap works the same as the Ehco. The only difference is the Ehco is voice activated and the Tap, you have to press the button to get Alexa. With both remember to download the Alexa app on your phone or iPad
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Tap is a "separate" thing. The Tap is just like the Echo, but smaller, and requires you to press the microphone button before it will hear your commands.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Completely Separate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You used the same Amazon account, but it doesn't sync with Echo.
