The 3rd generation Ryzen CPUs are not supported for 1st gen Ryzen MOBOs, which your 1700 runs on. You will also need to upgrade your MOBO too.

Please try again later.If it were me, I think I would spend an extra $150 and get an upgraded motherboard to be able take advantage of faster memory, which could be put in later. Or, you could do the CPU upgrade with what you have and do the motherboard/memory upgrade later. Looking at only CPU specs, I don’t think you would see a huge improvement with just the CPU upgrade.
