• it will work so long as you have an older cpu to flash the BIOS prior to installation

• A bios update is required before installing this cpu. If it is an older board that you are upgrading upgrade the bios first then swap the cpu. If it is a new purchase you will need to have a older cpu to update the bios then swap to the new cpu. If you want a mother board that works directly with this chip a Am4, x570 board will work
