You're either going to want a 470 series am4 socket motherboard with the latest bios update, or the x570 series. I would recommend an x570 board for ease of use and it also comes with pcie 4.0

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No it wouldn't be. a 970m is gonna be a am3 or am3+ socket whereas this cpu is an am4 socket. I'd recommend a B450 series if you want something more affordable or a x570 if you really want to overclock and have it hold stable. PS. and 400 series motherboards will support 3rd generation ryzen cpu's but will need a bios update to do so.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That motherboard is a AM3/AM3+ motherboard, it will not work with AM4 socket. You will have to upgrade to an AM4 motherboard and get new DDR4 ram as well.
