I believe you should be okay to upgrade to the Ryzen 7 3700X Processor. It's a superb upgrade. Way faster and great for gaming. I have a B550 gaming and it's very functional and fast. You might also want to upgrade your Ram to 16Gb!

You would have to check with the motherboard manufacturer. I believe most b450's will support the 3000 processors with a bios update. If you go to the bios you should be able to see the manufacturer and your bios version.
