The simple drop in watts and heat output is worth it alone. Not only are you getting a better processor on a newer architecture, but your a getting newer technologies that will smooth out any issues you may have had before. To keep things simple, when we got rid of our FX processors, we didn't necessarily gain anything in speed, we gained stability and new capabilities that we didn't have before and game play is super smooth. I noticed you indicated that you had the GTX1080. You will notice a great increase in frames with the new processor and faster DDR4, but we just assumed that the 1080 was going to keep up. Upgrading to 2060 Supers tells us we were wrong. Lots of games and higher settings that the 1080 struggled with or had weird issues with disappeared by upgrading to the RTX 2060 Super.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would have to say yes, but one major factor slowing you down is your ddr3 ram. Ddr4 speeds are much greater than ddr3!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Huge improvement over the FX series. Yes you will notice a speed difference and better FPS. Although this is the same as the 3700x with a higher clock speed, so going with that chip is good as well if you want to save money. I got this chip when it was on sale for 3700x price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You've probably already made the switch but this should be at least double the performance of the 8350 when it's all said and done. Need to pair it with fast memory. 3600mhz+ is preferred.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is a HUGE upgrade over the 8350. The 'FX' series of processors were definitely a low point for AMD. They weren't even competitive with the Intel processors of the day. Now with Ryzen, AMD is not only competitive, but is pulling ahead. If you want more FPS or to multitask more, this is the processor for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Huge improvement. Like night and day. Coming from fx6300.
