Q: QuestionIs this a big improvement over the fx 8350? I use for VR and modern games at 1080p ultra, and have a gtx 1080, and 16 gigs of ram (which I'm upgrading from ddr3 to ddr4). Thanks for feedback.
Asked by JAY.
- A:Answer The simple drop in watts and heat output is worth it alone. Not only are you getting a better processor on a newer architecture, but your a getting newer technologies that will smooth out any issues you may have had before. To keep things simple, when we got rid of our FX processors, we didn't necessarily gain anything in speed, we gained stability and new capabilities that we didn't have before and game play is super smooth. I noticed you indicated that you had the GTX1080. You will notice a great increase in frames with the new processor and faster DDR4, but we just assumed that the 1080 was going to keep up. Upgrading to 2060 Supers tells us we were wrong. Lots of games and higher settings that the 1080 struggled with or had weird issues with disappeared by upgrading to the RTX 2060 Super.

Q: QuestionUse 7th Generation A10 Quad-Core APU with Radeon R7 graphics CPU on Dell Inspiron 5675 motherboard. It said can use AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, AMD Ryzen 5 1400. Will this AMD - Ryzen 7 3800x 3rd gen 8 core will work?
Asked by Robert.
- A:Answer I would not trust the idea of putting any 3rd gen ryzen cpu in a dell mobo. All the connections on the mobo are proprietary and the board will only support up to 32 gigs of 2400 ram. If it fits, which it should, I would imagine the bios would need to be flashed to support the 3rd gen chipset. Dell bios is notoriously difficult to flash, if it is even possible.

Q: QuestionWill this drop into an HP 30L tower to replace the Ryzen 5 that comes with it??
Asked by HPOmen.
- A:Answer Depends on the gen of the ryzen 5 that came with it. Tower doesn’t determine the cpu compatibility, the chipset and bios of the motherboard matters. Check with the motherboard manufacturer specs to see if this cpu is supported.

Q: QuestionWill this fit in a ASUS sabertooth 990FX?
Asked by Michael.
- A:Answer That appears to use a Socket AM3 CPU socket, so no, no Ryzen processor will work in it. For any questions (in general) on motherboard compatibility, googling the motherboard name plus "CPU Compatibility" will generally bring up the information.
