its not a slow processor by any means. If you want the fastest cpu for gaming the 5800x3d is the best. the 5900x is a wonderful chip overall, but is mostly used for other applications that require multithreading. most games don't even use multithreading.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some Programs Use the V-Cache Better and can fully utilize it. I would Check working Benchmarks of both. Pay attention to the ones you use most and are most productive and efficient with. Then Decide it's your money.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 5800X3D out performs the 5900X when cache use matters, typically gaming. If you're "crunching", "folding", etc. The 5900X clock speed wins out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.@ 4k, there won't be much if any improvement. Where the x3d chips stand out are in lower res systems. The 3D cache helps with the huge swings in min/max framerates and 1% lows. But @ 4K, the majority of your load is on the GPU. CPU is barely used in most games.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Clock speeds are slower, so yes. The increased cache is mainly helpful in gaming. However, unless you are constantly doing cpu intensive tasks such as rendering encoding or extreme number crunching, you aren't likely to notice the difference. Plus the lower TDP means lower power consumption and thermals compared to 5900x.
