I don't own an iPhone, so can't answer that part. I have mine plugged into a power strip/surge protector, and have no issues. In my case it actually freed up outlets on the surge protector that I had single usb "wall worts" (about 3 of them), taking up all of the outlets on my surge protector. This comes with a standard cord so it won't cover any other outlet like the wall worts sometimes do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has more than enough voltage output and wattage to handle your iPhone. I use it to charge both my iPads, Samsung phone and Bluetooth earpiece at the same time. As for plugging into a surge strip...you could but I wouldn't recommend it. This unit would lose effectiveness over a period of time. For BEST results, plug straight into the wall outlet. It has it's own built-in protection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s compatible with anything that charges with a USB cable. You can plug it into a strip with a protector.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will charge the iPhone 8 fine but you must use a USB to Lightning cable, and not a USB-C to Lightning cable (iow, the old style usb connector, not the more rounded new one) and I have mine plugged into a surge protector just fine 115VAC from wall outlet or Surge protector is still 115VAC (normally ac voltage for residential outlets used by product) You're good to go on both questions.
