To address your concerns: First Use: There are no special directions for the first use of your power bank. You can charge your phone directly using the USB-A port. The USB-C and Micro USB ports are dedicated only for recharging the power bank itself. Charging the Power Bank: You do not necessarily need to charge the power bank before using it to charge your phone; however, ensuring it has enough charge will deliver optimum performance. You may use the LEDs as indicators of the remaining charge. Time to Fully Charge: The full charging time depends on the specific model and method. For example, for the Anker 733 Power Bank, it takes about 3 hours to recharge fully using either the AC port or USB-C 1 port. Please check your power bank’s manual for specific information applicable to the 20,000mAh model. Leaving it Charging: Once the power bank is fully charged, it is generally fine to leave it connected to the charger. After charging is completed, the LED indicators typically turn off, indicating that it has reached full capacity. However, for safety and efficiency, it is recommended to unplug it once charging is complete. Let me know if you need further clarification!

Connect the built-in USB-C cable or an external USB-C cable to a compatible wall charger (not included) and plug it into a power outlet. The digital LED display will show the charging progress. 2. Mine personally (anecdotally) takes a long time to charge the first 10-40% and then seems to go from 40 - 100 much faster. According to the manual, you can use 5vdc to 20vdc to charge and of course at 20 it will charge faster "Input: USB-C1 / C2: 5V 3A / 9V 3A / 15V 2A / 20V 1.5A (30W max)" 3. Most products anymore have circuitry to prevent overcharging and since this item specifically deals with charging one can assume it is safe to keep it plugged in. Another manual excerpt: ActiveShield™ 2.0 Safety Technology: Monitors temperatures over 3 million times per day to ensure safe and optimized charging.
