“Can this unit take a charge using a USB type A to USB type C adapter? I know doing this that charge will be slower than the normal PD input, but I was not sure it would be compatible/accept with a slower charge.”

Yes. It will work. If the charger has enough power. But not a good idea. Use the charger that came with it, and go get a USB C cable

Haven't tried charging the power lock like that but as long as it's able to charge via the usb c cable, it should work but maybe slower depending on block you use and and all that. Mine came with the charger block and cable (usb c - usb c).

Yes, this battery can still be recharged using a USB type A to USB type C adapter, just it will be very slow to fully charge it, about 40 hours.
