“What is the point of “wireless” charging when the charger still has to be plugged in? Stated differently, why is this better than plugging the lightning cable directly into the phone? Thanks.”

I want to grab my phone quickly when it’s ringing, without worrying if I’m at cord’s end. With a pad, you can grab your phone and walk into another room and back without hassling with a cord

Not having to scratch the bottom of your phone until it looks like the inside of a car door handle trying to find the exact spot to plug in the charger is also a nice touch.
