I took the charging cord provided and tied it in to my electrical system. (Key on power only) So that the box is always charging or maintaining its charge while I am driving. I am a couple months shy of a years ownership. Never have pulled out one (I have three) that is not fully charged. I have had occasion to use this item a few times.
