Yes, there is a tap on the left earbud that will activate Google assistant.

Please try again later.Double-tapping the left earbud (touch-sensitive) will summon the Google Assistant (or Siri, or whatever preferred virtual assistant you have set up). It's not as intuitive as the integration in some other products like Bose QC35 II and Sony WH-1000Xm3 (which both have dedicated buttons that you press and start talking immediately, but it works fine once you double-tap and summon Google Assistant.
