• Yes you can use the right ear bud only for phone calls. I've used only the right while talking with anyone. I would try paring the earbuds again to the device and give it a go. Hopefully it should work

• You can do the right ear without left. However, if you want to use left ear only, you would need to read the instruction on how to get it working.
