Yes you can stop DirectTV if and only if you use some other streaming device like Roku (my personal favorite) or Firestick and have access to the internet. While it is true that the antenna does not pick up premium channels like HBO, ESPN, or SHOWTIME, for those like myself who are cutting the cord it increases the ability to get a strong signal for over the air viewing of local and distant channels thus giving you a bigger selection of channels.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not if you still want to watch channels such as CNN, HBO, etc. There are less expensive options other than DirecTV, such as Playstation Vue, DirecTV Now, Sling TV and Hulu with Live TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sure, but only if the only channels you want to watch are Fox, CBS, NBC, CBS, and PBS with a few odd ball stations inbetween.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending where you live, and how far you are from the broadcast towers will determine what channels you get. You won't get channels like CNN,TBS, AMC , Weather Channel, ESPN etc., or any subscription channels. Antennas primarily are designed to pick up your local channels and there side channels such as ME TV, I get about 11 channels, but if you live in a large are such as Dallas Ft Worth you could receive a lot more, but no subscription channels that r available only on cable or satellite. This antenna did not work for me because I live too far from broadcast towers, 75 miles. And had to order a larger more expensive model. I had to order a larger one, I live in an apt., so I can't put antenna outside where they work best.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can drop your DirectTV subscription whether you buy the antenna or not. However, the antenna will only pick up local broadcast TV stations. It will not pick up channels like ESPN, HBO, PAC12, Oxygen, FX, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
