No. There are options in the market to add signal strength boosters that require electricity but are likely not needed unless you need long cable runs or plan to split the signal to multiple TVs. I hooked mine up to the powered distribution splitter the cable company previously installed to boost their signals within my home.

You do not need electric to use an antenna.
