You might need an amplifier, that being said I have the antenna connected to an amplifier and going to a HD Radio receiver of which I am getting FM and HD radio stations coming out clear.

With a metal building, it is difficult to receive signals, radio or television, so our recommendation is to place any antenna you decide on outdoors for the best reception indoors.
