Broadcast digital tv signals travel by line of sight. Any obstructions like buildings, trees and terrain that block that line-of-sight digital signal degrade the signal. Again with digital it is mostly all or nothing. Generally if antennae is mounted where there is a minimum of obstructions, the better. Try using an app like antennapoint to determine which stations you can receive and to properly aim your antennae. Again this is a great antennae, but will work best when most broadcast stations are generally in one direction from your antennae. You may need to experiment to determine what works best for you. In our case, there was solar panels and concrete roof tile that I did not want to damage, so mounted antennae in attic as high up as I could reach 6’. Reception is really clear, but may degrade in winter when roof is wet and signals may have a harder time to reach antennae. Hope this helps.
