Does this operate fairly well in snowy areas? null

This antenna works great in snowy areas. I am in Upper Michigan and we get a lot of snow. I never had to adjust it and picture is amazing.

In some cases, falling or fallen snow can build up and affect signal and in other cases it does not affect signal at all. It depends on your specific location and available signal.
