Yes I would ground it, no specific instructions to do so, but I did. Mounted inside good reception, outside better, but think needs to go on roof for the best. I just swapped it out for the DirecTV satellite feed cable and mounted to side of house. Connected to existing ground rod for electric. I need to hire someone with a taller ladder to install on roof
