It will depend on the direction which you need to turn your antenna for each TV station. The antenna has to be facing or aimed toward the receiving tower if the receiving tower does not send out strong signal. This is often the case for PBS station tower in Monticello. If you have concrete walls or on first floor there may be interference with signal transmission.

Behind the TV, the TV itself may obstruct the antenna's line of sight.
