A:AnswerThe wire grate is on the older style that I purchased back in 2012 and it works great at 70+ miles with boost xt amp. I have the newer Clearstream 4 that I purchased 2022 no grate on the rear and it works excellent at 40+ miles with signal amp and gets even more channels ( which I think is because of the closer proximity). They work about the same in my estimation?
