“i can get all but 1 local channel fine. they say i need and amplifier. i have a two tv's going into a splitter then the antenna cable to antenna. does the amplifier replace the splitter. sounds dumb but please help.”

The signal is coming from the antenna, so the closer to the antenna that you insert the amplifier the the more signal you'll have to amplify. So the system will be: Antenna ---- Amplifier --------------------------- Splitter (one branch to each TV) ============= There are ampliers that have splitters built in but that would usually mean the amplifier is closer to the TVs than the antenna and the signal would be attenuated (reduced) before you could amplify it ... your installation might force you to use one option. ALWAYS amplify before the splitter!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've read that a 100" run of coax cable and a splitter + 2 connectors (each end) can have up to 17db of loss. I don't know how long your cable is from antenna to tv. So an amp may help but you say you get all but 1 channel so what's the problem/need for help? I'd say you are good. I've read that over-driving a signal can lead to FM radio interference especially if there is an FM broadcast tower nearby.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This product does not include an amplifier. The antenna has one coax out for VHF and UHF. Your issue may be the splitter. Have you tried removing the splitter and re-scanning on one TV only? Splitters will cause signal loss. If it works with on one TV, you will need a powered splitter with amplifier. Otherwise the missing channel signal is just too weak for you to receive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The amplifier doesn't replace your splitter, the amplifier will go between the antenna and the splitter, it's used to send more power out to they tvs, it boosts your signal. Hope this helps
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you are only going to split to the two TV's I would opt for a pre-amplifier. It will mount on the antennna mast. A pre-amplifier will help to overcome the signal loss from the cable run along with the loss from the splitter. Whereas a distribution amplifier would only make up for the split and cable afterwards.
