Clearstram 4V, my area is the hardest area to pick up signals (red zone) and i am able to watch TV after 2-3 days of set up and trying to get signal. There are 4 zones: Green, indoor antenna is good enough Pink: Artic Grey : out door antenna reguired Red: even out door Antenna still hard go to TVfool.com and fill in your address, you will find out

If they are close you can get away with an indoor antenna. If they are 30+ miles I would use an outdoor variety antenna. The attic would be ok, but if you can mount it on the roof that is the best.
