Nope, just need broadcast towers in your area.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No internet connection needed. It's a stand alone unit. Works great. I got 15 channels with antennae sitting on floor. It does take a while to put all together. Not too much fun, but ok. I took it back. Not ready yet to "pull the plug" on cable. Cable stuff is SOOO much more expensive...but SOOO much easier to use and by the time you add in the cost of buying antennae and buying some streaming for movies / etc....it's not far off the same cost.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, not to use the antenna. You should use the internet to find out where your broadcast towers are so you know in which direction to point the antenna.
