• No don't need cable services . also channels depend where your located and what direction atenna is facing and what's around your area I got at least 100 channels

• It all depends where you live,I get 7,mostly local. Higher elevations are better

• Don't count on getting very many channels. Try the Lava units, they are much better and very little assembly

• I get 19 channels. Cable service not necessary.

• This will give you all of the over-the-air channels within range of the antenna and you do not need cable.
