How many hours will the backup battery last? null

Since power is usually going out during a storm, I unplug my computer anyway. I use a UPS to keep it from getting electrical surges and to give me time to shut it down correctly if I'm tardy in doing that. Having said that, it depends on how much you have connected to it, but you need to think in terms of minutes, not hours. Maybe fifteen to twenty-five minutes. But again, that is my estimate, your mileage may vary. PS, you could always unplug from the wall and see :-).

As stated above, this will depend on the kind of power (in watts) your device(s) draw. The best way to determine that is to put everything on a power strip and then a watt meter (like Kill-O-Watt) between that and the wall outlet. APC also has a tool to help estimate power draw. https://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/tools/ups_selector. Use "Home, Home Office" and "Configuration by Device". Add the closest match to each of your devices (I used "Thinkcentre" for my DIY i7 desktop machine) and hit "Continue". Along the left hand side of the page you'll see a slider for "Run time" under "Preferences". Adjust that (say, to "10 minutes") to see what model APC unit is suitable. You can use "Configure by Load" if you have your actual power draw.

Unfortunately there’s no real clear answer. It’s all based on how much you have plugged in.
