• Yes. This product is actually multifunctional. Half of the outlets provide both back-up AND surge protection. The other outlets provide surge protection only. They're clearly marked as to which provide both functions, and which provide only surge protection. Based on 20+ years of experience with APC products, I've never suffered either data loss or equipment damage because of a malfunctioning APC product

• Yes, unit works as both a surge protector and a line conditioner. Some outlets are surge-only, for things like printers and high-load peripherals that you don't want/need to run on battery backup. Others are both surge and battery, and those also provide voltage boost in brownout conditions.

• Yes Great protection. My unit will keep my computer runner for a few hours before the computer is shut down. I think it has gone as long as 6 hours.
