“1) Do all APC backup-UPS models operate correctly with ungrounded AC circuits? That is a 2-prong AC outlet found in older homes. 2) Assuming a wiring fault will be triggered when there is no ground, how do I disable the alarm for a ground fault?”

Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately our BackUPS require a ground connection. There wouldn't be a way to turn off the alarm on the unit. The alarm is there because if the UPS can't ground any excessive current can be shunted to ground.
