The unit is designed in the temperature range of 32…104 °F according to the company's website. I would suggest keeping it well ventilated as it could produce a bit of heat when running on the battery.

I would be concerned that the UPS would get warm inside the box if there is no way to vent the air inside it. When they do get warm it can shorten the lifetime of the internal battery as well. I would install it outside of the box if that is an option.

The manual, in a section titled “Danger” states,”Be sure the air vents on the UPS are not blocked. Allow adequate space for proper ventilation.” That said, many of the equipment cabinets that you describe have circulation fans that allow for proper ventilation.
