you gotta Google this one - there is a wealth of info on it. I found out I don't need sine wave.

Generally it depend on the equipment you are connecting to the UPS on whether you would need a pure sine wave both on and offline. Sensitive equipment may require the pure sine wave power. I would check with the manufacture of the equipment that you want to connect to the UPS to see if it requires a pure sine wave. An example of one of our pure sine wave units is our BR1500MS2 and our gaming UPS BGM1500B. Alternately you can check our SmartUPS products which would be a pure sine wave.
