“The overload indicator light sometimes goes on even if I don't have anything plugged in. It always goes on when I have more than three things (even small items like lights and phone chargers). Do I have a defective unit?”

Thank you for you inquiry. The overload light should only go on when you have more than supported equipment on the unit. It would turn yellow if the connected equipment is pulling over 12 amps.
