The back of the surge protector says 400V for clamping power. Am disappointed since I bought this based on APC's answer claiming clamping power of 300V.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.300 is NOT correct per the APC response, nor a recognized UL certified voltage. UL recognizes 330, 400, and 500. The back of the surge protector itself is stamped 400-500-500... Premium surge protectors will be 330-330-330. This is very disheartening to see an APC employee provide bad info.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A surge protector can restrict, or “clamp,” voltage across the three legs between these components: L-N, L-G, and N-G. This model offers 330 volts (V) of clamping across the main line-neutral leg, the most critical place to block surges. It has 400V clamping across the two grounded legs
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry. The clamping voltage would be 300V. The amount of surges the device can take would depend on the size of the surge. If the surge is large enough that the unit can't shunt it to ground then the surge protector will sacrifice itself to prevent any damage to the connected equipment. If you do receive any type of these surges which causes surge protector to no longer work please do not hesitate to reach out to an APCbySchneider support team since this unit would come with a lifetime guarantee on it.
