No, it cannot be permanently deactivated. The whole point is for the alarm to go every time there is a power outage to make you aware and to check your equipment.

My experience with backups is that the only time you have an alarm is when it has failed.

If the power goes out the unit should automatically switch to battery power during which time you don’t hear an alarm.

If the battery runs out before the electricity is restored, you will get the alarm.

The idea is to turn off your devices if the power is not restored quickly. It is not a generator that will last for hours and hours.
