- Answer Yes you can! If you have an iPhone it can also take calls when the iPad is near (phone, FaceTime and iMessage). Cellular service is not needed to FaceTime, as long as there is a valid Apple ID linked + WiFi you’re good to go,

- Answer yes. corner to corner of the screen portion diagonally. the actual dimensions of the ipad are bigger.
