• Yes, this will work with the Apple Pencil. I have the first generation and it works with it. It says it will not be compatible with the Gen 2 pencil, and I’ve not tested this out yet, but what I can tell you is that the 2nd gen pencil charges by attaching via a magnet to the side of the iPad Air and iPad Pro. As it can’t do that with this model, there wouldn’t be any way to charge the gen 2 pencil from the iPad. A wireless charging pad might work, but I’m not sure on that one. The first gen pencil will work with this model for sure.

• Yes. From my reading on this question it supports the first Apple Pencil.

• 8th gen iPad will work with 1st generation Apple Pencil only.
