“Why do i need a new line with att? I already have three with att theres only three in the family.”

If you don't want additional line, you can get the WiFi only or get this one without a line.

You do not NEED another line, you can just buy it outright (unlocked) or just the wifi model, but if you want to have LTE attached you have to pay for it. No carrier will allow you to get free data. Attaching a tablet is the same as attaching a phone.

To use data via cellular, you will need to have a number assigned. My account says 2 phones and an IPad.
