“Will I need to pay Version a monthly subscription fee for their service to work on the IPad?”

This question is for: Apple - 10.9-Inch iPad Air - (4th Generation) with Wi-Fi + Cellular - 64GB (Verizon) - Rose Gold

It depends, if you purchased an iPad that needs a cellular plan, meaning you want it to have service to (FaceTime, surf the web, watch movies etc..) without wifi. then yes you have to pay either $20 or $30 (your choice in plan) MONTHLY for their data plan. If you don’t want to pay a monthly fee, then purchase a wifi only iPad. But in order to have service on it, you’ll need to be connected to wifi or a mobile hotspot.

Only if you’re getting it a line so that it has Wi-fi. Otherwise you’re paying monthly for the device and just using your wi-fi at home. I opted to pay for the wireless account so that the iPad would work everywhere instead of relying on my phone’s hotspot.
