A:Answer I would say yes if your using it for research, notes, art based learning, some light creativity/production, and for sheer portability. Honestly I would think the MacBook in any form would better suit a college student. With the battery life almost doubled and the full power of MACOS combined with the endless ways to be productive, millions of tabs for browsing, dedicated keyboard, and full fledged Mac App Software you would be far more productive vs having to find work arounds to do basic things not easily completed on ipad os in its current form. Wwdc is coming soon which is rumored to bring better software on par with mac os for ipad os but thats a shot in the dark. With that said ipad is super fast, portable, and extremely convenient as well as a joy to use for consumption which is just as important as being productive as a student.
