The notable differences between the 3rd and 4th generation iPad pros are a slight upgrade in processor, improved cameras (4th gen has a larger camera so be careful if buying a 3rd gen case for a 4th gen iPad Pro. 4th gen cases will work fine with the 3rd gen pro though), base model storage on 3rd gen is 64Gb while the 4th gen base starts at 128gb. There are some other small changes but nothing major, even the upgraded processor will not make noticeable differences in most cases. The camera, however, is significantly better on the 4th.
