• This iPad supports iOS 16+ You should not have any issues with upgrades/apps. I haven't read anything so far that shows when end of life is for this device.

• At some point, all electronics will be too old to update to the newest technology. I would say, if you want one that will update for a while. Get the newest one. Consider what you are doing with it, then make your purchase based on that.
