The sound is louder. And, I believe tht for the 12.9” thisnis the first time it has a true tone display like the iPad Pro 9.7” and like the new iPhone X. This means it adjusts color on the screen depending on ambient light to give a more natural look to images on screen. And, yes, the 2nd gen is much faster.
