Not sure what you mean by how long it will last. It is a desk top so you’ll have it plugged in. The speed depends on what you will be doing. If you will have multiple apps opened or working with video, then you’ll probably want to get the faster one. But if you are just using for surfing the web or photoshop, then this should be fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This iMac uses only 2.3 GHZ, Intel icore 5 processor, and I am not very happy with the speed. I had my first iMac from 2009 (it has 3.0GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo processor) and I got this as a birthday gift. I didn't find a lot of difference with the speed compared to my old iMac. From my experience, iMacs lost for life time. No viruses attack my iMac. If I were to have a Windows based PC from 2009, I might have bought 3 computers. I strongly recommend if you want a computer to last long. Thanks.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My mac is surprisingly fast and as for how long it lasts depends on how you use it. If you are being a safe web browser and get bug protection. But expect a good four years.
