“I use a pc for store pictures,word documents write letters etc,Surf web.mail, Facebook I want a desk top and I don't want to buy some super pc that I don't need can you recommend?”

Tom, this is what I use mine for. You might be paying a bit more for a Mac then some stand alone PC but I learned years ago that the Mac seems to last longer and more easily integrates with everything else in life that I do.

You would need to buy the microsft package if you planned on using microsoft programs like work but if you aren't program specific apple has their own similar program already loaded called pages. iPhoto makes it easy to organize your photos by date, location, or people. It comes loaded on all macs.
